The [It's raining in May] by [ Sakurazaka46] leads Japan Billboard (week 15/52) review music charts

It’s Easter time! and like a Sakura Usagi (rabbit), the 46 flowers from Sakurazaka jumped 34 positions to reach the golden throne at the Japan Billboard Hot100. These massive groups never cease to amaze me with the big jumps and influences they have on the Japan music charts. Even if they don’t reach a position on Global 200 Chart.

These is Sakurazaka46 4th single since they re branded, in 2020. They sold 452,752 copies in the first week and became the single 1st place. They also reached the 6th place on Twitter.

It seems the music industry in Japan is coming back with their concerts in full bloom after May, after the Hiatus the Pandemic originated. A lot of events have been going on preparing for the fan hearts to be filled with love for the songs.

I personally believe as the borders and freedoms go back to normal, the concerts will get massive a lot of intensity and compensating the lost time. It might result in a few accidents or even exhaustion, but it can also be the perfect balance between work and life.

It's raining in May (五月雨よ) Sakurazaka46 (櫻坂46)

A little bit of the lyrics translated:

It’s May rain, and

the love comes afterwards. Even though I

look up, I'm

expecting a rainbow somewhere

. May rain, when will

the sad "someday" come?

I have an un-spreadable umbrella To

go see you right now ... I believe in love for

eternity that never ceases”

Personal Japan billboard Review:

This song and the video footage somehow it brings me back to the “Koi Suru Fortune Cookie” (恋するフォーチュンクッキー) by AKB48 in 2013. The soft tone voice and the slow hand movement it seems to be representing the group calming season being at the end with the appearance in May magazines issues, according with the official website. If you are looking for a softer version of their songs, this is the one!

The clothes remind me disco music, maybe it’s the sparkle effect! However, they look elegant but modest and becoming more mature as the seasons go by.

Don’t forget to check out the top 10 at the end of this post!

Who are on the second and third position that might steal the throne?

The second and third hasn’t change since last week making them a threat or a wall of resistance to any music and group, or band, wishing to reach the throne.

Move The Soul - JO1

I love the Purple Hair!

The J01 music’s are clearly evolving their Pop into something more related to Hip-hop. They clearly practice a lot their dance moves. By watching their Practice video, I can clearly see their group in sync even if there is a moment or two a small percentage of members seem to be a little tired(?), I mean they do the move but use a lower intensity comparing with the others. But the seams the Project 101 is working in Japan perfectly.

The music of this group is a bit different from the "standard" Japanese pop music, but I enjoy it. Their first single, 'PROTOSTAR', was released on March 4th, 2020.

The eleven-member Japanese boy group formed by the top contestants of the programme Produce 101 Japan, owned by LAPONE ENTERTAINMENT.

LAPONE Entertainment (LAPONEエンタテインメント) is a Japanese entertainment company. It was founded on May 29, 2019, as a joint venture between the South Korean company CJ E&M and the Japanese company Yoshimoto Kogyo.

The company currently manages the Japanese boy groups JO1 and INI.

The MTV VMA Japan awarded J01 the "star on the rise" award in 2020.
