Billboard Japan Hot 100 Chart: April 2022 songs and artists [review]

Another month over, And the Japan music charts, did it Surprise you?

Let’s recap on post, the April Billboard Top Chart in Japan. While doing this post, I also check the Global Top 200 Chart to verify if Japan’s music is making an impact on the world.

Are the Japanese billboard leaders conquering the world step by step?

Short answer, the April Japan Billboard leaders didn’t make it to the Global Top 200 Chart. However, as the days pass by, in April, March’s Leaders marked presence on the Global Chart.

March leaders on the Chart: Aimer (song: Zankyosanka) and King Gnu (song: Chameleon).

During April and on this first week of May, we have Billboard Japan Hot 100 non-leaders reaching and marking presence in the Global 200.

Gen Hoshino is a Japanese singer, songwriter, musician actor and writer. Indeed, a man of many labours. From 2000 until 2015, was part of the band Sakerock, in total the band released 10 albums. As a Solo artist, he has been active since 2010 with his first physical single being released in 2011.

The band was formed in 2012. Their first album was released in 2015 making their debut that same year. In April 2018, he made his major debut with Major 1st Single "No Doubt".

With music rooted in various genres, including black music, it continues to gain support from all generations.

Anyway, let’s remember who the Japan Billboard leaders were …

On the first week, we had the cold but sweet [Brother Beat] by Snow man . The music is an opening theme from the recent movie "Osomatsu-san" ( ) starring them (Snow Man) , which is the theme song, was released on March 25.

The movie Original Plot from the website: " The six children of the Matsuno family, Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Ichimatsu, Jyushimatsu, and Todomatsu do not get a regular job even after the age of 20, and they are virgin kusonito who bite their parents' shins. They live together under one roof while pulling their legs together. One day, his eldest son, Osomatsu, meets an old gentleman (CEO of Apricots, a large company with a market capitalization of several tens of trillion yen!). Who is Snow man?

Snow Man is a Japanese idol boy band formed by Johnny & Associates in 2012. Today, the male idol group labels are under MENT Recording. The agency was created through an agreement between Avex Entertainment and Johnny & Associates. This move between labels was done to Snow Man and Kis-My-Ft2.

Although, Snow Man reminds us of Cold Winter, their music is far away from the cold, with energetic vibes and beat that can make you move your feet. The group's activities focused on acrobats and stage play. Snow Man made their official debut in 2020.

The group consists in 9 males: Hikaru Iwamoto; Tatsuya Fukazawa; Shota Watanabe; Koji Mukai; Ryohei Abe; Ren Meguro; Ryota Miyadate; Daisuke Sakuma; and Maito Raul Murakami.

On the second week without an official presence at the Global 200 billboard music chart, we have the AKB48 sister group, Sakurazaka46.

Who are the Sakurazaka46?

Sakurazaka46 (櫻坂46) formerly Keyakizaka46 (欅坂46, Keyakizaka Forty-six), is a Japanese idol girl group produced by Yasushi Akimoto. A sister group was created as part of the Sakamichi Series on August 21, 2015, becoming 's first sister group. In October 2020, the group will be renamed after their concert.

Sakurazaka46 is named after Sakurazaka Street within Roppongi Hills in Minato, Tokyo.

On the third week, the Japan Billboard got romantic and brought us the [Lovin’ You] by King&Prince.

Who are King&Prince?

The Japanese group was formed in 2015 by Johnny & Associates. The selection of the elements of the group happened due to the TV Asahi's Summer Station event (official website: The group's first original song, "Summer Station" was used as the official theme song for the Summer Station event, which ran from July to August 2015. The group was meant to disband after the event. However, in August 2015, the members announced that they would continue activities as a group.

Mr King vs Mr Prince was divided into two subgroups: "Mr King", consisting of Sho Hirano, Ren Nagase, and Kaito Takahashi and "Mr Prince", consisting of Yuta Kishi, Yuta Jinguji, and Genki Iwahashi.

King & Prince embarked on a nationwide arena tour in 2018 named the King & Prince First Concert Tour following their successful "Cinderella Girl" single.

This group of people is composed of people from all over the main Japanese island, Honshu.

On November 20, 2018, Genki Iwahashi announced that he was taking a break to deal with his panic disorder. The group's management announced in February 2019 he would rejoin the group and participate in their third single, "Kimi wo Matteru", but in March it was noted that he would continue to receive treatment. It was goodbye to Genki Iwahashi on 31 March 2021 following his retirement from King & Prince.

And Finally, on the fourth week, after so much romance the heart stop and he had to [Call 119] by INI.

Who are INI?

Like the 11-member group J01 formed by Produce Japan 101 season 1 , INI is another 11-member group also formed by the TV show Produce Japan 101 season 2. The INI group is formed by Ikezaki Rihito, Ozaki Takumi, Kimura Masaya, Goto Takeru, Sano Yudai, Xu Fengfan, Takatsuka Hiromu, Tajima Shogo, Nishi Hiroto, Fujimaki Kyosuke, and Matsuda Jin. They debuted on November 3, 2021, under the label Lapone Entertainment.

They won the Mnet Asian Music Awards (abbreviated as MAMA) In 2021 as the award for Favorite Asian Artist.
